DevOps Software Engineer

Job Summary:

Waverley Software is seeking a highly motivated AWS DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our growing team. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS solutions for our applications.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Implement and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
• Collaborate and engage with developers and operations teams to bridge the gap between development and deployment.
• Proactively identify and implement security best practices for AWS environments.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS services and technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or a related role.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform (ECS tasks, Secrets Management, CloudFormation, EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM).
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
• Strong scripting skills (bash, Python, etc.).
• Experience with containerization using Linux-based containers and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Cloud SQL.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with configuration management tools.
• Experience with additional infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Experience with Python development beyond scripting.
• Experience with multi-cloud platform development beyond basic SaaS solutions.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies.
• A strong understanding of Linux administration.
