Job Summary
As a Presale Business Analyst/Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between Waverley Software’s delivery capabilities and our clients’ needs. This role requires strong business acumen and a consultative approach to client interaction, especially with C-level executives. Your primary responsibility will be to craft high-value, tailored business proposals that align with clients’ strategic objectives and Waverley’s service offerings. You will advocate for Waverley’s strengths, adapt proposals to evolving client needs, and ensure they are both compelling and executable from a delivery standpoint.
You will work closely with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and recruitment, to ensure that proposals reflect a feasible delivery roadmap while addressing client pain points. You will also act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights and guidance throughout the sales cycle to help close deals.
The position requires a combination of technical capabilities with business acumen, interfacing with customer leadership at all levels while representing Waverley Software in a highly professional manner at all times to showcase the value our services deliver. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales to qualify prospect needs and drive a sales engagement through to a successful close. Consult with C-Level Executives: Engage with high-level stakeholders to understand their business strategies, offering tailored software development solutions that align with their vision.
- Suggest Action Plans for Success: Analyze client product landscapes and market trends to suggest proactive action plans that help products outcompete rivals. Provide strategic advice on evolving client products to increase their market success.
- Adapt to Client Feedback: Continuously modify and refine proposals and product roadmaps based on client feedback, maintaining flexibility without compromising delivery quality.
- Develop High-Impact Business Proposals: Craft compelling, tailored business proposals and presentations that reflect Waverley’s value and adapt to client feedback while ensuring feasibility for execution.
- Clearly articulate and evangelize the Waverley unique value and differentiation to a diverse audience. Advocate Waverley’s Value: Clearly articulate Waverley’s differentiators, positioning us as the partner of choice for software development while showcasing a deep understanding of both business and technical aspects.
- Build and deliver excellent value-based introductory solutions and deep-dive technical proposals to prospects. Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and the staffing team to ensure proposals reflect technical feasibility and resource availability. Provide internal consultative insights to optimize product delivery and success.
- Proactively provide pre-sales cycle feedback to help drive the sales process forward and document progress toward the close.
- Help encourage customers to share their experience with Waverley software to produce customer case studies, testimonials, and references. Contribute to improved collateral, including media demonstrations for customers, presentations and written content.
- Develop and coordinate the gathering of marketing cases, proposals, and other sales materials to represent companies’ relevant experience to prospective clients.
Quialifications
- Proven experience as a software product manager or product owner, with a strong background in managing product lifecycles, releases, and development portfolios. Product Management & Ownership: used to take ownership of the development and release portfolio, ensuring product features and updates meet client and market needs. Define clear product roadmaps and oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple software projects.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex solutions in simple terms to C-level clients and internal teams.
- Experience overseeing the development and delivery of software products, working closely with engineering teams to ensure on-time and successful releases.
- A business mindset, able to balance sales and product strategy with operational and technical constraints.
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities for product success, create action plans, and advise clients on product strategy and market competitiveness.
- Strong collaboration skills, working across functional teams to ensure alignment between sales, product development, and client expectations.
- A consultative approach with an ability to influence stakeholders, both internally and externally, to achieve project goals.
Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following:
- An extensive background selling or managing consulting services, ideally outsourced software engineering
- Experience in modern architectures, testing, data processing solutions, automated deployment pipelines, etc.
- Expertise and wide knowledge in some of the areas: AI/ML solutions, Mobile-first Solution Architectures, SaaS products, Cloud native solutions (AWS, GCP), DevOps, digital transformation type of projects.
- Adept at learning and applying new technologies
A typical day might look like
Start your day by finalizing a proposal for a new Prospect with an Engineering Manager(s) and Project Manager(s)
Research a prospective company and key stakeholders who will attend an initial meeting scheduled for tomorrow. Have a preparation call with a Sales Manager
Conduct two calls with different Prospects: an intro and a technical call together with respective Sales Managers
Present a proposal to another Prospect together with a Sales Manager, schedule follow-up with the Prospect, do post-action lessons learned and correct the business solution proposal if needed based on the Client’s feedback. Send updates right away.
Participate in an Internal Handover call with Client Experience and Engineering Manager to pass technical and operational knowledge about a new client we’re about to onboard. Align on expectations, risks and next steps
