The Opportunity

We’re searching for a Senior Backend Software Engineer who combines strong technical skills with curiosity, ownership, and a passion for building high-impact products. In this role, you will take the lead on developing and maintaining a microservices architecture that powers the company’s core platform. You’ll work primarily with Java, Kubernetes, and modern cloud-native technologies to deliver performant, scalable, and well-tested software.

What You’ll Do

Build and enhance AI-powered features and backend services
Design scalable data models and pipelines to support high-volume processing
Develop secure, reliable APIs that manage large datasets
Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to expand platform capabilities

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong Java expertise
A proactive mindset and excitement for applying AI tools to real-world challenges
Hands-on experience with Java microservices, automated testing, and build systems
Familiarity with the client’s core tech stack: Spring Boot, Hibernate, Git, Kubernetes
Ability to review code, troubleshoot complex issues, and support fellow engineers
Strong documentation practices and ability to design scalable solutions that process millions of new data points daily
Experience working with both managed and unmanaged cloud services — including databases, data streaming, message queues, container orchestration, job automation, and CI/CD systems
Commitment to best coding practices, Agile methodologies, and effective communication

Nice to Have

Exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs) and practical AI implementations
Experience handling large-scale datasets and database performance
